Scrappy Marcelle

The last couple of weeks I’ve been working on the Marcelle Medallion quilt from Liberty Love by Alexis Marcelle Abegg. I’ve been kind of obsessed with medallion quilts lately and it’s been so much fun to quilt.

I am trying to use up scraps. It’s really hard for me. Something about my OCD. For this quilt, I ended up choosing 2 fabrics from my stash and the rest were scraps. The hardest part were the solid borders. I did a lot of fabric auditioning.Marcelle MarcelleTop

For the back, I decided to use up the left over blocks and continue with the scrap theme using the same colors as the front. I ended up pulling out some new fabrics from my stash and mixing them with the scraps.

Not sure how I feel about the finished back. But I’m glad that I pushed my self to experiment with scraps. I think I still have to figure out my scrap style though.

Happy New Year!

Hope you have all leaped into the New Year on a positive note!

I love to gift hand-made items. However, this Christmas I just didn’t seem to time things right. So as part of the New Year, I made a list of the hand-made items I’d like to gift in the coming year. I ordered them chronologically. My goal is to make 2 per month. Hopefully, organizing this way will keep the last minute bugs and stress away.
