Crafting as Meditation

Really liked this post by Kim McCormick over on Apartment Therapy on crafting as meditation. There’s been more than one time I’ve escaped to my sewing table to relax or calm down.

Back in the Saddle

I started a new job in January and have neglected my blogging. It’s a choice between blogging or creating and I lean towards creating with any spare time I have.

I’ve been completing quilts.

These fronts and backs have been hanging in my closet for around six months. My lovely husband gave me a new sewing machine for Christmas so I promptly started quilting these, then slowly binding them.

Also been making some purses.

This Butterfly Sling Purse is February’s bag of the month hosted by Sew Sweetness. The pattern is by Emmaline Bags.

These Quarter-Note clutches are also by Emmaline Bags. Can you tell what bag designer I like? What I love most are her directions, so clear and detailed that I can make bags labeled advanced (whereas I consider myself an advanced beginner/intermediate bag sewer).
